How it works
How SourceX works
From a first look at your records to getting paid. You approve every step.
The walkthrough
See the whole process in under a minute.
What happens from your first check to getting paid, shown on the platform screens you would actually use.
- 01
See if you qualify
A few questions, no files. See an estimated licensing payout.
- 02
Map your data
List your systems, years of history and what can be exported. Qualifying companies list at least 5 systems; photo and video stores don’t count.
- 03
Agree on price and terms
We evaluate your inventory against buyer requirements and present your actual licensing offer and terms for you to accept, counter or decline.
- 04
Become deal-ready
You confirm the price, the terms, and that you can deliver an export once a buyer commits.
- 05
We present it to buyers
AI labs and data buyers typically respond within about two weeks.
- 06
Sign and package
Final agreement signed; we help you export and package the data.
- 07
Privacy review
Personal details are removed and the package is checked before anything is delivered.
- 08
Get paid
After SourceX’s written selection, you invoice. Timing and conditions are set by your signed transaction agreement.
Standard deal terms
What a typical SourceX deal looks like.
Typical terms; final terms are in each agreement.
One-time payment
Fixed fee, no royalties. SourceX’s written selection permits an invoice; payment is due Net 60 from SourceX’s receipt of it. Unselected submissions earn no payment.
You keep ownership
You retain ownership of your original licensed data. Under the signed agreement, SourceX owns the deidentified dataset, subject to your underlying intellectual property rights.
Exclusivity and confidentiality
For an agreed term (fixed or perpetual), you agree not to license the selected data to anyone else for AI training. The restriction binds you; SourceX's own right to distribute or sublicense the deidentified dataset is unaffected. Neither side publicizes the deal.
Data review
SourceX has 30 days after acknowledging complete receipt to select data in writing, unless the parties agree a longer period in writing. Unselected portions are deemed declined. Partial selection requires a mutually agreed reduced fee.
Permanent license
Once the fee is paid, SourceX's license to the deidentified dataset is permanent and survives termination of the agreement, and models already trained on it aren't retrained or deleted.
What you confirm
You have the rights to license the data, personal data was collected lawfully (GDPR/CCPA), it hasn't been licensed for AI training before, and it wasn't created or altered with AI for the sale.
SourceX maps what your company knows to what AI labs and data buyers need.
We evaluate ten fit signals — not just company size — then turn messy business systems into a private inventory buyers can understand.

Not a valuation. Company size alone doesn't determine value; final value depends on actual buyer demand and due diligence.
