How to remove sensitive details from business data for AI training

By Noah Loul · Updated

Short answer

Preparing data means removing or transforming information that identifies people or confidential parties — names, contact details, account numbers, faces and voices — so the dataset can be licensed with lower privacy risk. Methods include redaction, pseudonymization, aggregation and generalization.

Common techniques#

Redaction, replacing identifiers with tokens, generalizing dates and locations, and blurring images.

Verify the result#

Sample and review the output; automated tools miss things.
