CSV to JSONL converter
Quick answer
Paste or upload a CSV. Rename columns, choose a type for each one and download JSON Lines. Everything stays as text unless you change it.
Your sample is processed in this browser. File contents are not uploaded.
Supported input
CSV or TSV with optional header row, up to 10 MiB or 25,000 rows. Quoted fields, embedded newlines, CRLF and BOM are handled.
How it works
Parsing follows RFC 4180: double-quoted fields may contain delimiters, newlines and escaped quotes (""). Values are kept as strings by default so IDs like 00042 survive. Number, integer, boolean and JSON types are converted only when chosen; rows where a conversion fails are reported and left out of the export, never silently coerced.
Limitations
- Converting a file does not create training permissions, labels or rights.
- Rows with failed conversions are excluded from the export and listed in the report.
Questions
- How do I convert CSV to JSONL?
- Paste or upload the CSV, press Parse CSV, rename columns or set their types if you want, then download the JSONL file. Each CSV row becomes one JSON object per line.
- Will IDs like 00042 lose their zeros?
- No. Every column stays text unless you choose a number type for it.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The file is read and processed in this browser tab, and its contents are not sent to SourceX or anyone else. Closing the tab or pressing Reset clears it.
